Newcomers
Niamh McEvoy
The ambitious 19 year old, Niamh McEvoy from Omagh, joined the Horseware Newcomer team in 2023. Not only has Niamh an impressive record of medals from her Pony and Junior career but managed to secure a Gold medal with the Irish Young rider team at the Youth European Championships this summer. At the beginning of this year, Niamh joined Ballypatrick Stables and is part of the educational program of the Young Riders Academy for 2023. Niamh`s idol is no other than Horseware Hero rider Laura Kraut and we are sure she has a bright career ahead of her!
Max Wachman
A gold medal winner with the Irish Young rider team at the Europeans in Italy this year, Max and his younger brother Tom are located at the incredible facility Karlswood of Horseware Hero rider Cian O`Connor. Under Cian`s guidance and training program, Max has started to make his name on the international 5* circuit and has already proven his talent on multiple Nations Cup appearances, like in 2022 when the Irish team won the Aga Khan in front of their home crowd at the Dublin Horse Show. Since earlier this year Max took over the rains of one of the most well known Irish sport horses, Kilkenny, who along with Max are proving to be an amazing combination who are climbing the ranks very quickly. Max is very humble about his accomplishments and ability to partner successfully with world class horses and he is extremely focused on dedicating his time and efforts into being the best athlete that he can be.
Tom Wachman
Born into a horse family, Tom`s interest for horses was no surprise. After having a successful Pony career, Tom won a team gold medal with the Irish Junior team at the European Championships this year and an individual silver medal. This year the 18 years old stepped up to international 5* level and has competed in his first Senior Nations Cups for Team Ireland, and we are sure to see more of Tom in these rings more often in the future! Like his older brother Max, Tom trains with Horseware Hero rider Cian O`Connor in Karlswood and Cian describes Tom as “having something different” and sees huge potential for him to make his ambitious dreams come true.
