Cilla has had her Rambo rug since 1998. Together they have seen rain, snow, wind, field play and lots of mud. Cilla’s Rambo rug has outlived 3 washing machines in her owner’s home.
There has been no need for her Rambo rug to be reproofed as it has never leaked.

“The best rug investment ever made”, stated Cilla’s owner.

The Horseware Ireland Rambo rug first became available on the market in 1985. Horseware Ireland’s founders, Tom and Carol MacGuinness, were determined to produce a rug that didn’t leak, didn’t make the horse sweat, and didn’t move around the horse when the horse rolled, and so the Rambo Original rug was born.

The Rambo Original rug quickly became the bestselling rug on the market. Today, the production of Rambo rugs still takes place in the same town in Ireland. Each rug gets the same attention to detail and high-quality material that we began with in 1985. The outer material on a Rambo rug is ballistic nylon, a fabric so strong that it was first developed for the flak jackets worn by World War II airmen. Part of Horseware Ireland’s new employee induction plan is a challenge – to try and tear a piece of the ballistic nylon used on a Rambo rug! In our 35 years, no one has successfully won this challenge. It’s no surprise that Cilla’s rug is still in such great condition at 20 years young.
