Scope of Role:

Horseware, one of the equestrian industry’s best-known consumer brands are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as Forecasting Analyst within our Planning department. This role is to be the key link between several departments, including Production, Sales and Supply Chain. The successful applicant will also be there to support and ensure delivery of customer and inventory delivery goals. The duties include planning and inventory management along with analysing statistical data and forecast management in support of the SIOPS process. The ideal candidate for this position would have materials scheduling experience at a senior planning level, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsible for safely, efficiently, and effectively planning, scheduling, and closing work orders to comply with all client procedures and to meet or exceed performance metrics. The Forecasting Analyst must ensure the highest level of professionalism, while meeting the company needs and the performance metrics.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead creation of demand forecasts and plans
  • Review historical sales trends. Research demand drivers, assist with the development of statistical forecasts and evaluate results. Analyse and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, resolve problems, meet deadlines and handle fast paced critical work environment.
  • Use demand planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts that have Supply Plan and Budgetary implications
  • Provide accurate MPS data to drive correct MRP action for build and buy decisions
  • Ability to adapt to change in the work environment to drive efficiencies and improvements
  • Draw up master/discipline schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet forecasted master schedule.
  • Plan and schedule workflow according to sequences and lead times. This will include the creation of the MPS and Material Planning Requirements
  • Optimize working capital costs of raw materials, conversion, and finished goods while achieving desired customer service objectives in support of supply chain initiatives and company profitability plans.
  • Work with NPD (New Product Development) to ensure that these requirements are captured for FG and Materials
  • Coordinate the initial production requirements for new products or revised editions with consideration for outdated stock.
  • Analyse and review manufacturing run sizes and communicate opportunities to improve the balance of cost and service among raw materials, conversion, and finished good costs.
  • Utilize a collaborative approach by working with Sales, Marketing, Finance, R&D and Operations.


Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Educated to a Degree Standard/CIPS/APICS
  • Experience in Demand Management and Business Analytics
  • Strong Statistical and Analytical Skills
  • Experience in ERP systems
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work in cross departmental environment
  • Experience of Planning, and Inventory Management Principles
  • Extensive knowledge with developing & maintaining Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) & Integrated Master Plans (IMP).
  • Proven experience in delivering results at a senior planner level.
  • Proven experience in Process Improvement Plans
  • Advanced PC skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must. Especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret general business information.
  • Requires the ability to effectively present information
  • Ability to read and interpret financial data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task on a regular basis.
  • Successful candidate must possess a strong sense of urgency and time management skills to meet deadlines.
