At Horseware Ireland, we respect the right to personal privacy and our obligations under the Data Protection legislation and External Data Protection Regulation. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to outline how we deal with any personal data you provide to us while visiting this website, as a registered user and when you interact with our company.

The types of data that we process

Our Company collects, holds and processes the following data:

  • Personal Data that identifies you or can be used to identify or contact you and includes information such as your name, address, gender, email address, birth date and phone number and other contact details. While information such as name, email address and delivery address etc. may be necessary, as we need it to provide you with the service, the rest is only collected from you if you with your freely given consent .
  • If consented to, we gather statistical and other analytical information collected on an aggregate basis of all visitors to our website.
  • If consented to, our servers automatically record ‘log files’ containing information about the volume and characteristics of our website traffic e.g. IP address, numbers of pages viewed, length of time spent on site. We use log files to build pictures of how our site is used that help us to monitor and improve the service. We cannot identify you from your log files.
  • We use the Data gathered from visitors to our website in an aggregate form to get a better understanding of where our visitors come from and to help us better design and organise our website.
  • Your form responses under “A little more info”, such as location and discipline, will be used by Horseware Products Ltd for research, marketing and commercial purposes.
  • Should you decided to submit your details using the website form for the Brand Ambassador / Influencer program. the details will be used to assess your application. Further information is available in the Brand Ambassador / Influencer program Terms and Conditions.

You directly provide Our Company with most of the data we collect. We collect and process data:

  • Where we need to perform the contract we have entered into with you
  • Where we need to comply with a legal obligation

  • When you register online or place an order for any of our products or services

You may inform us of any changes in your Personal Data, and in accordance with our obligations under the Data Protection legislation will update or delete your Personal Data accordingly. We keep personal data for a variety of purposes and for a variety of retention periods. The general guidelines for how long we retain data are based on a clear assessment of what is necessary and proportionate in our business, with particular reference to statutory obligations that apply to our business.

We will not hold your Personal Data any longer than is necessary for functions associated with this website. We will review our databases on a periodic basis, and shall delete data that is outdated, inaccurate, or no longer necessary.

For certain services, there is a specific retention period and, once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by appropriate deletion software. An example of this is WooCommerce, which we have set up to delete inactive accounts after 12 months.

 

The Purpose of Processing

The purpose our Company may process your data is to ensure that we can:

  • Maintain and fulfil a customer / service provider relationship and to send important notices, such as communications about product purchases, product recalls, product warranty information, product safety or security information, and changes to other policy documents. (Because this information is important to the products that you purchase on Service Provider’s ecommerce platform, you will receive these communications even if you have opted out of all other communications);

  • Where you have consented to the sharing of your information with third parties, we will do so in accordance with Disclosure of Information to Third Parties below;
  • Seek your views on our site and our marketing activities;

  • Create a variety of market research insights and to help us to better understand consumer behaviour, which in turn helps us to make smart decisions about our products and services.

When Our Company processes your order, it may send your data to, and also use the resulting information from, credit reference agencies to prevent fraudulent purchases.

There may be occasions that we process your personal data as part of a statutory or contractual requirement. Failing to provide the personal data may result in services being withdrawn and a report made to the relevant authorities.

Our websites are not aimed to attract children and our objective is not to collect personal information from children. For example we use Active Campaign to send large volumes of emails, your email address will not be added to this unless you have consented. We will disclose your Personal Data if we believe in good faith that we are required to disclose it in order to comply with any applicable law, a summons, a search warrant, a court or regulatory order, or other statutory requirement.

Your information is stored on secure systems on our premises and with providers of secure information storage (including cloud storage providers).

Some of our service providers, for example IT, telecommunication, payment processors, providers of administration services and contractors are based outside of the EEA.
