Job Description

Reporting to: Strategic Marketing Manager


Horseware Ireland, the leading global manufacturer of horse and rider clothing, is currently recruiting for an App & Back-End Web Developer to assist with App development and to manage a suite of websites based at their head office in Dundalk. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an internationally renowned and award-winning business


  • Working alongside the web developer with the improvement and delivery of resource centres.
  • Manage the improvement and activity of our direct-to-customer sites.
  • Manage the updates relating to our online ordering system.
  • Formulate reports and analyse data to circulate regularly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Understand client requirements and how they translate in application features
  • Write high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines
  • Perform unit and integration testing before launch
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications
  • Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
  • Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code
  • Support existing and new email campaigns and automated programs plus database management including pulling data, cross referencing, importing, and maintaining subscriber attributes

Knowledge & Skills

  • 3+ years proven experience as application developer or similar role
  • Experience in designing and building Android, iOS and web applications
  • Strong knowledge of Java, Swift and Objective C
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, XML, JSON
  • Experience in integration of 3rd party libraries and APIs
  • Experience with HTML emails best practices and Email Marketing campaigns such as newsletter creation and development would be helpful
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Great attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Familiar with ecommerce solutions
  • Relevant qualification.
  • Planning User journey and mapping
  • Demonstrable experience in working with Video formats
  • Knowledge of current web design trends
