She was rescued by a team including the fire brigade, vet and local farmers with a forklift and slings. The ordeal was covered in the local press and also the Horse and Hound have phoned to take details so it may be in there too.
After she was rescued from the ditch the rug had not only stayed in tact but also had stayed in place perfectly possibly sparing her from further injury and definately saving her from the pressure marks from the slings used to lift her out.
As you can imagine we were very relieved to get her out and even more relieved to find that she was not hurt apart from a few superficially cuts on her legs. Apart from the sentimental value of her she is also a very valuable show specimen so it was a good result all round. |
