Frog and Dumble came out like lunatics with their tails up! I was very pleased that Frog settled for 29 dressage – 3rd place! He really has come on a huge amount in a year. He show jumped well but had one down and gave me a great ride cross country. Dumble settled well for a 29 which was a surprise. He had 2 rails down. He also benefited from a nice steady round cross country.
Mac also come out quite tense but despite that he really has improved since last year. He show jumped well with just the last fence down and gave me a great ride cross country. I went home feeling like I had been on three cycles of a tumble drier!
Day 3
Bart led the dressage and then did a pleasing double clear to finish 8th. He was quite tense on the xc but that is to be expected as we do not know each other yet. He is very genuine and an exciting prospect.
The Fox-Pitt Eventing Club horses were having their first novice run and it was great to see so many Club members out to support them.
Imran was 2nd after the dressage and Dylan did a 37. Both horses knocked the same show jump down and both get 16 time penalties – the same as Bart – what a bizarre coincidence.
Chuckle did a great test for a score of 26 - the show jumping was interesting as he did a bit of a nap, it was a lapse he has done before but gave me no indication to was likely to occur. He was foot perfect cross country so we move on to Aldon.
All in all it was a pleasing weekend.
12 horses from the yard ran at Tweseldown and Ibbys young horse went to Bath and West. Sadly Lord Code did not get to have his debut as a point to pointer from the yard as it was cancelled due to the snow.
Jackie and Alex had an eventful weekend.
It started on Friday when Bee Animas got stuck on the food bins with his foot in hay net, Buck ran loose with his bridle flapping between his legs. Dylan then tried to break Alex’s arm by wrenching her shoulder and then proceeded to roll when tied up to the lorry.
We had a fire in the living of the lorry – caused by William! People came to the rescue when they noticed flames and smoke billowing out of the window. Alex was in a dilemma whether to rescue the horses or the dogs first! Molly then was in a state of shock and disappeared for a while.
We look forward to a less eventful week and Aldon! |
